Playground Games has confirmed the PC requirements for Fable, roughly half a year ahead of its launch on 23rd February 2027. In the end, they’re a fairly straightforward looking set of specs for the minimum, medium and top end expectations, as you’ll see.
The new minimum spec puts the Ryzen 2600 and Intel i7 6850K as the CPU requirement with a GeForce RTX 2060 or 5050, a Radeon RX 6600 or Intel A580 as the lowest GPU to get 1080p30 performance. The Recommended spec then calls for the ubiquitous Ryzen 5 5600 and Intel equivalent, and GeForce RTX 5060 or 3060 Ti, or Radeon RX 9060 XT or 6700 XT.
That tracks, when all of this needs to run well on the Xbox Series S as the baseline console, with Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 as the core visual target, before higher end PC can push on with higher level effects. It’s worth noting that the minimum CPU requirements are a generation newer than for Forza Horizon 6, and the GPU minimum is also a performance tier higher.
What’s interesting about the Medium system spec – the ‘Recommended’ one which is analogous to current gen consoles – is that it notes two resolution and frame rate options, either 1440p at 30fps or 1200p at 60fps, and with no mention of upscaling. That does imply that a 60fps performance mode could be possible for Xbox and PlayStation.
Using the ForzaTech game engine as its basis, though adapted and extended in different directions to what Playground Games require for the Forza Horizon series, the gameplay demos released over the past week have shown off just how good this game can look, exploring Bowerstone, the capitol of the Fable world, filled with hundreds of crafted inhabitants to this world, homes, businesses and other details. The studio also released a more extended look at combat, adventuring through mines and marshes and battling undead wraiths.
