5Sony have just annouced the 39,980 (£180) yen 40GB PS3, which is available in Japan in both black and the new stunning white. It’s a match to the European 40GB, and comes with the regular Sixaxis, which is odd given the rest of the press release talks about the new Dual Shock 3, although this is probably whilst stocks last of the Sixaxis. The 20GB is now 44,980 yen and the 60 GB is now 54,980 yen.
The first 200,000 to now buy a Japanese PS3 will also get Spider-man 3 on Blu-ray.
