Namco yesterday announced a new title for both PSN and Live Arcade: PowerUp Forever. It’s yet another shooter, apparently much like Super Stardust HD (with twin stick control, naturally) but is all based on fractals and procedurally generated levels. The twist here is that as you destroy the enemies your ship grows in size, with the camera zooming out to accomodate, showing previously static structures as massive enemies in wait. Shacknews (link below) describe it as Katamari Damacy crossed with Spore, which sounds fantastic.

PowerUp Forever is set for release this summer on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.
