PES 2009 Gets Update

We’ve just had word in from Konami that PES 2009 will get a major update in a couple of weeks.

The update, which is free, will update four Spanish sides (to be fully officially licensed) and tweak many of the kits and team rosters throughout the rest of the game.  Additionally, the in-game UEFA Champions League mode will benefit, adding 12 more teams to the club list with fully licensed kits and kit markings.

This is nice to see, and shows Konami’s commitment to the game – if they can keep adding to the game in this way, for free, it’ll please many of the series’ fans.  PES 2009, already a million seller from pre-orders alone, hits shelves tomorrow and our review copy is currently being dissected by our review monkeys.
