EA’s Redwood Shores studio are already the proud recipients of numerous awards for their pant-wettingly scary sci-fi survival horror game Dead Space. Courtesy of the Game Audio Network Guild’s 7th annual awards ceremony they have just received two more, with Dead Space winning both Audio of the Year and Sound Design of the Year.

G.A.N.G. describe themselves as “the worldwide organization for the advancement of interactive audio and the community surrounding it”, whose aim is “to educate the masses in regards to interactive audio”. The awards were voted for by G.A.N.G.’s 800-strong membership.

Media Molecule’s PS3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet was also ‘hearted’ at the awards ceremony, winning Best Interactive Score and tying with Afrika for Best Original Instrumental. On a personal note it was also good to see that a particular favourite of mine, the Mirror’s Edge theme song, Still Alive, picked up the award for Best Original Vocal Song – Pop.
