We’ve talked about Codemasters’ Formula One title before, and whilst we’ve already confirmed that there’ll be a PSP and Wii title for the 2009 season, we think this is the first time we’ve had official confirmation that there’ll be a 2010 title for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. On the weekend of the Silverstone race, Famitsu has released the two images below, promising more details in the next issue of the magazine due on the 3rd of July.

The best bit? It looks like Sumo Digital are developing the game. Hopefully there’ll be a UK press release tomorrow and we’ll have some new information because all we’ve got to go on just now are these EGO-powered renders, and very little information, and whilst Codemasters’ first party games tend to look amazing in motion, this appears to mark something of a visual step up for the arcade-experts at Sumo – we’ve not seen them use motion blur before, for starters.

Hard to say from the shots. I didn’t know whether it was from a movie, either. Hopefully get confirmation one way or another tomorrow.

They don’t look like screenshots – more like artist’s concept paintings. It would be great if they were screenshots – nice dynamic style.
Still, as Max Mosley is systematically destroying the sport there might not be an F1 to follow while we play the game!

Worth posting though, right? I mean, they’re not from a movie from 2008 or something?

Definitely 2009. Look at the slicks and the McLarens rear wing. (second photo)

Hopefully they’ve still got time to remove the Ferrari, Maclaren etc paintwork off the vehicles and pain on Skoda, Lada and whoever else is competing in next years FIA F1 Championship

I would gladly pay £7.99 for a PSN F1 game featuring one car and one track to do time trial in.. I just want to play a new F1 game!
F1:CE is three years out of date and GT5:P’s Ferrari F2007 is completely different to this years car.

F1:CE is still a legendary game, one of my first on PS3 i think. But i guess thats the thing with this sport. Its not like football where they may alter the offside rule or change the color on their kit. Every year sees new rules, newly designed cars etc.
Just noticed in the second pic that on the computer screens’ top left, there is the layout of Silverstone. So if its Donnington Park next year, the games already out of date XD

hopefully there will be a new F1 game.
loved the previous ones and was rather gutted when they didn’t come out with a new one for a couple of years, but by the looks of these screenshots it does look as though it could be well worth the wait.

That looks amazing.
so it cant be real lol.
Definately not in game though surely? Better looking than Killzone for sure if it is. Scrap that, that amount of detail beats any game out there

F1 2010? So there’ll be 4 cars and no idea where the British GP takes place?

)

The idea of been in complete control or a race weekend as suggested in these images really appeals to me! Would anyone else like to have to drive the car out of the garage for qualifying and pull up in park ferme afterwards? I thought the job of the last game was a ‘good un’ but was disappointed at how much had been done for you, rolling starts and fuel strategies been a simple game menu rather than something done from your garage.
