Just over a week ago Volition announced that it was patching Red Faction Guerrilla. The patch contains a variety of changes, some of them based on community feedback with other features paving the way for future content like the first of three DLC packs that is forecast to land next week, 13th August, for 800 MS Points or 9.99 US Points.
We have been hawkishly watching the original announcement post for details of when the patch will be released as they said in the announcement that “the release date… information should be available very soon and this post will be updated at that point”.
Only they did not. They have put up a new post with release details. The patch was due to go live on the 360 at 4AM PST which was midday here in the UK. For the PS3 the patch “will go live sometime in the afternoon”.
Double XP
From when the patch goes live until midnight PST this Sunday 9th, which is actually 8AM Monday 10th here in Good ‘Ole Blighty, all games will be double XP. So if your Martian arsenal is still short of an ostrich hammer now’s your chance.

Awesome I loved playing Red Faction online and I’m currently around over 70,000XP been trying to get the Ostrich Hammer as it looks funny as hell
Can’t wait for the new DLC next week plus gives me a chance to try out Killzone new maps this weekend and Batman Demo and probably Call of Juarez DLC online maps.
All in all the PSN is getting the good stuff from there on.
Spot on. Thanks for the heads up guys might start saving up me pennies

Is this game srtill worth picking. Sort of slipped from my radar. Is the multiplayer a noob no go area. Is there many playing it? Good there some DLC coming.
