For those who don’t know, Ratchet and Clank developer, Insomniac Games, recently opened a second studio in North Carolina. Currently the 6 month old development house is only made up of 20 people but what they’ve created is already being talked up as being “impressive”.

During the company’s most recent podcast, the Full Moon Show, community manager Bryan Intihar said,

We’re not gonna tell you what they’re working on but we can say we saw it and it’s really awesome.

James Stevenson, community relations manager, went on to note,

Really good first playable. A lot of fun, a lot of potential and a long way off still.

The “long way off” comment is one to note specifically as we won’t be seeing it for a while. They say that they’re very excited about when they can eventually reveal anything but that moment is still a long way off. The title, genre and even platform remain a mystery until then but I think we can safely assume that it will manifest itself on some sort of Sony product and judging from the studio’s previous titles, I would guess we’ll be seeing it on something with a “3″ in it. As you may know, I love Insomniac, and a certain one of their franchises in particular, so anything new from them is something to look forward to.
