During Gamescom Media Molecule announced that water would be coming to LittleBigPlanet, and a couple of days later they announced plans for a closed beta to test the implementation of Water and to weed out bugs from the new Online Create mode. If you were one of those who applied to be a water beta tester then now is the time you should be checking your inbox as the emails have been sent out today, along with a hefty download before you get to play with the water itself (it’s a separate thing).
The email states “We’d like you to join us for an exclusive Beta Trial of LittleBigPlanet, which contains a preview of forthcoming game features, including Online Create, improved online performance for low bandwidth and laggy connections, but chiefly – WATER.”
As a bonus all beta testers will be awarded the ‘Beta Test Vest’ item of clothing and its possible to be awarded a ‘Beta Bug Blaster Hazmat’ costume if you’re willing to go above and beyond the call of duty and get down to some serious bug testing, and Water level creating activity and obvously get involved in the beta testers LBP forums. As is always the case with betas, its use is bound by the Beta Trial Agreement so that is unfortunately all we’ll be able to say on the matter until such time as the agreement is lifted.
