This video, showing the cool new dynamic Ratchet and Clank XMB theme, also appears to have a slightly different XMB. No box around the clock, no ticker, and it has to be at least 3.00 because it’s a dynamic theme, right? Maybe it’s a configurable option in a more recent firmware than 3.01. Check out the very first frame of the video, too – are we getting MAG themes?
Whichever, nice looking theme. And it’s not even a slow news day – do I win some kind of prize?

If only the user visited his friends section, we could have seen whether those grey boxes were still present!
Nice theme though.

Well, in the beginning of the video, there is no theme installed yet… so the lack of the little box has to be firmware related…

And maybe the theme removes the small analogue clock because it replaces it with the big R&C clock which just happens to be showing the right time?

Could it be that the guy hasnt added a PSN account on the PS3 system so it doesnt show any friends info etc. ?

I also notice that there is no analogue clock, and the “loading” icon is back to the original swirly thing.

Could just be a beta dynamic theme firmware then.

Yep, I think it’s old firmware. Dev firmware or something. Where’s that vid from anyway?

But look at the date – 9/8. FW 3.0 was Septemeber 1, so it cant be old…

They don’t HAVE to update dev firmware…

But its a dynamic theme so it HAS to be FW3.0 or newer.

Wouldn’t 9/8 mean 9th of August? i.e. before 3.0 was released? Or is it American-style month/day?

That is an awesome theme!
Also, it may just be the type of firmware (not going to be publicly released) that they are showing it on to test it.
Hopefully it is 3.10 as that means it is coming soon!

Nice find but I really do hope they get rid of those grey friends boxes. They just look ugly. Too ugly in fact. People can only withstand a certain amount of ugly.

No it is the old firmware before they updated because the date stated (9/8) and to mention also that person also had the Pixel Junk Monster dymatic theme, no we are not getting M.A.G. dymatic theme because if you look good he had to take it off the theme setting to put it on dymatic theme that is why M.A.G. dymatic theme picture is not in the list when it is shown, look at it again okay?

As for the date, the video could be off a US PS3 (or at least one using US date format) which would make it September 8th, which was after 3.0 was released.

the first list at the very beginning was when he was importing the themes to the PS3, the list said:
MAG Raven Theme
MAG SVER Theme
MAG Valor Theme
Ratchet & Clank (the one he imported)

You can get those MAG themes from the MAG website. Download the webkits in the downloads section, and the files are in zip folder.

In regards to the M.A.G theme, which was awesomely spotted by the way, maybe they are unofficial. I only think this becuase they are titled Mag. Surely the official themes would be titled M.A.G? I know that is extremely picky!

Thats the worst dynamic theme I have seen. It’s hardly dynamic. It wont be 3.10, its just dev firmware. I’ve seen another video of them showing a dynamic theme, and there was no info box and that was before 3.00 was released. So lets stop speculating and just wait and see.

I think the main dynamic element is the clock.

I have to agree. It is so terrible, I was quite looking forward to this when I heard about it. Sounded great, but this theme is just pure rubbish.
