SEGA have announced that a demo for their multi-platform spectacled slash-em-up – Bayonetta – will be with us on December 3rd. This will be a uniformed release with both XBLA and PSN getting the demo.
The game is already receiving some very high praise including some perfect review scores. You can check out the Bayonetta Revelations (developer diaries) parts 1 and 2 if you are unaware of the game or still need some help with making your mind up.
Japanese gamers have been enjoying Bayonetta for about a month now; EU gamers will be able to get hold of SEGA’s latest on January 8th 2010.

I downloaded the Japanese demo awhile back, and to be honest I wasnt impressed.. In fact, I dont think I even bothered finishing the demo. Just seemed a poor mans DMC to me, and I thought DMC4 was pretty poor…

That was me posting. I’ve platinumed UC2 and Bayonetta. Your opinion is ok and all, but i think you’re underestimating this game.

40/40 from Famitsu and 10/10 from Edge mean I’ll at least try the demo. Probably try it a couple of time to see if I get the same reaction they did.

Really? Edge gave it 10/10? This is Edge right? The ‘not really pretentious at all’ magazine that rates everything lower in order to appear cool and trendily jaded about the games industry? Im surprised. Truly.

11th title ever to get 10/10 I think *checks* Yup eleventh game to get a perfect from Edge, and twelfth to get a perfect from Famitsu. I was already kinda curious, this put it very significantly on my radar.

It’s a review. It’s someone’s opinion. If you don’t agree, buy or look at another magazine.
If there is one thing I am sick of hearing is people moaning about review scores. Not every review score needs to fit your own opinion!

Try Metacritic for reviews if you want to read what evevybodies opinion is on pretty much everything that is released.

Whoa there Dex! Im just suprised about edge giving a perfect score thats all, it is just my opinion and ftr I dont read edge or any magazine, I tend to get reviews from metacritic generally, but thats just my choice.. As it happens, I’ll prolly give the english demo a go, based on those reviews, maybe I lost something in translation.. But really, no need to get het up.

i was surprised when i read that.
a game that seems to be sold on the strength of its skintight catsuit clad heroine gets a 10 out of 10 in edge?
the game seemed fun from the demo but didn’t expect that kind of rating.
i mean look at the other games that scored that
Super Mario 64 (Nintendo 64) – E35 (1996)Gran Turismo (Sony PlayStation) – E55 (1997)The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64) – E66 (1998)Halo: Combat Evolved (Xbox) – E105 (2001)Half-Life 2 (Windows PC) – E143 (2004)Halo 3 (Xbox 360) – E181 (2007)The Orange Box (Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) – E182 (2007)Super Mario Galaxy (Wii) – E183 (2007)Grand Theft Auto IV (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) – E189 (2008)LittleBigPlanet (PlayStation 3) – E195 (2008)Bayonetta (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360) – E209 (2009)
some great games on that list.
