Ubisoft have just announced that the latest addition to the Prince of Persia series is in development and is scheduled to be released May 2010 for consoles and handhelds. The new instalment, called Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, follows on from the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time storyline.
Ubisoft also said that the game will feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations.
It’s interesting to see they are doing handheld versions as well and I wonder if the new mechanics will improve the gameplay or simply be something extra to fiddle with and learn. The game’s release will coincide with Disney’s movie adaptation of The Sands of Time. For all future updates about the game, check out princeofpersiagame.com.

I’ve enjoyed all the PoP games, including the recent PS3 outing, so I’m happy with a new game following any storyline…

Im actually quite disappointed, I’ve played the other ‘PoPs’ but they are nothing like the Prince of Persia on the Ps3 and 360.I dont care for graphics once it has a great story which makes me want to play from start to end.
I was really hoping they would make a sequel =[
