The recently revealed Bayonetta update for the PS3 version of the game is now live in Europe. Upon booting up the delectable lass this morning I was greeted with the tell-tale “There is a 1.01 version available” announcement.
The download is 136MB, which isn’t too bad. The real kicker is when you go to actually load it on to your hard-drive. Prepare for the game to take up a mammoth 4.5 GB of space. It’s worth it though, the loading times do appear to be greatly improved.
We’ll be back later with more impressions of how Bayonetta + Patch actually performs. So far the frame-rate looks untouched. But no surprises there.

136MB came down in about 5 minutes.
The install took about 20 minutes.
I get up at 7am every morning.

I used to have problems with download speeds but then I bought one of the homeplug adapter kits, so I now effectively have a wired LAN connection to my router, and my PS3 downloads at 1.5mbps. Cost me £80, but because I spent an extra £20 and got a switch I have my 360 and PC sharing the wired connection too so I get the speed benefit on all three.

Oh I know. I just wanted to take the opportunity to tell everyone how long it takes to install 4.5GB of data.
[And how fast my connection speed is

When this patch was announced last year, did they say that they would look into the framerate issues (not that i’d probably notice them anyway), or was it just the loading times that they would address?

Would have preffered them to make a new DMC in the same vein as DMC 1 and 3, not that bothered about this game tbh…..
