Rockstar have released another video of Red Dead Redemption’s gameplay called ‘Weapons and Death’. To my surprise this trailer didn’t include a single fluffy bunny or children skipping hand-in-hand whilst humming nursery rhymes.
I don’t know about anyone else but I am seriously impressed with this and the previous gameplay trailer. The graphics are looking great and the horseback gun fights are a nice touch. If you’ve played Call of Juarez then you’ll also recognise the slow-mo targeting of multiple enemies before time restores and your revolver unleashes multiple rounds in quick succession.

This is in my top five for this year for sure. The RAGE engine looks totally beefed up, shame it’s not getting as much hype as some other, less deserving games. Rockstar seem to be on a roll. Looking forward to more about Agent and LA Noir too.
Damn I need a second income.

Just pre-ordered from Shop-To-Net.
Luckily I got £150 credit for winning their NFS: Shift tournament so I don’t need a second income…..yet.
But with all the good games coming out this year it won’t last for long.

You can go bounty hunter (dead or alive) hunt animals (sell their skins) protect innocent ladies (maybe rumpy pumpy) as well as the main quest..think the freedom of San Andreas but in a wild west format, and your halfway there

All of them are go there kill that, come back kills this and repeat ad-infinitum. It’s my opinion this style of gameplay peaked in ‘02 with Vice City and was made more boring in San Andreas and even more boring in IV.
Still no one creates hype like R* and I’ll probably buy them both (this and GTA:EfLC), although I almost certainly will be looking out for heavy supermarket discounting on release day, or for £20 deals online after a month or so.

The game engine looks phenomenal, with the principle gameplay being identical to the GTA series, releasing this in a similar time period as Episodes From Liberty City may mean PS3 owners can buy only one of them, meaning a lower attach rate for either game on the PS3 and further cementing the fact that the X360 is a great place to launch first.

Great video. Wow, they’ve put some effort into this title. I’m kinda with cc on this one. It may well play like a cowboy version of GTA but it really does look tempting and possibly a difference in pace as well as aesthetic beauty.

Repetitiveness might not bother me too much if the scenery looks as good throughout as it does in the trailer, I could quite happily ride around all night on a shetland pony whilst drinking beer wearing a Stetson which I’ll have to purchase on release day.
Hmmm, that brings some other thoughts to mind, alcohol, pub, girl/barmaid, my place, naked girl/barmaid wearing only Stetson, cowgirl boots optional… I can wish but it is a Friday after all so there is a possibility.

Thats a good point but there’s a size issue… Like the Stetson, the boots would have to be bought in advance and my size 11 badboys may look a bit off putting in a chick
