What Do 336 PS3s Look Like?

Last year we reported that the US Military had plans to buy up 2,000 Playstation 3s to create one giant super computer. The PS3 cluster will be used for various tasks including ‘Neuromorphic Computing’ in which the Playstations will mimic the human brain. In other words, they are building Skynet out of games consoles.

 “In a general sense, we are interested in making it autonomous,” said Mark Barnell, the high performance computing director.

I give it a year before it becomes sentient, connects to all the other PS3s across the globe and nukes us to oblivion. In the meantime, here is the first picture of the harbinger of doom.
