Despite denials, LittleBigPlanet will get a “full sequel”, according to the latest Official PlayStation Magazine. The comment apparently comes from the magazine’s rumours section.
Elsewhere, we have received word that OPM are claiming E3 will see Killzone 3, Resistance 3 and inFamous 2; Infinity Ward aren’t behind the next Modern Warfare game and – interestingly – Sony haven’t even mentioned some of the “major titles” they’ve got lined up for the PS3 this year.
Could be an interesting 2010 indeed for PlayStation fans. Roll on E3.
Thanks, jimmy-google

Even though OPM haven’t been the best of sources recently (See GT5 slip-up), I would like to see a “Full Sequel” for LittleBigPlanet, it truly deserves it. I would certainly buy it, too.
Do it, Mm!

Infinity ward won’t be behind the next CoD game, and I’m going to go out on a limb and say there will be a LBP3, yes THREE. You heard it here first

The magazine doesn’t say COD game it says that splatter house will be makiing the next Modern Warfare game and Infinity Ward are instead working on an MMO.

It could move away from 2d and go full 3D

Oh God please no! 2.5D maybe but 3D would be a pain in the ass to create for and would completely destroy the spirit of the game – the irony would be too painful to bare if Sony forget what makes LBP appeal at the same time SEGA have finally remembered what makes Sonic appeal!!!
.
They need to handle a sequel carefully to avoid splitting the community – maybe with some kind of backwards compatibility with LBP1 levels?
.
They could give a completely new campaign mode, refine the controls like the ‘slippy’ jumping, add some new design elements like the paint gun and water, refine the creation process, maybe add an extra ‘layer’ of level and perhaps do something more dynamic with the world like the ability to ‘walk through doors’ to enter different areas of the world (bit like the flip maps in Crash Commando) or the ability place objects in the foreground (in front of the platform) to give a more 3D effect like Trine.
.
There are absolutely loads of things they could do to justify the sequel without destroying the spirit of the game. Actually now I’ve just thought of some of the things they could add I’m quite looking forward to it!!! :)
.
The only ’3D’ you will probably see is 3D rendering of the 2D world for 3DTVs…

They need to make Create as easy as ModNation Racers…
Although the LBP Create is great, its extremely difficult and time consuming to create anything meaningful, unlike MNR

the create mode in lbp might be more complicated but it’s a lot more versatile.
you’ve seen some of the things people can do with it, vehicles, machines, music level there was that calculator some guy made.
as for a full 3d world lbp, i’d love to see that.
look at titles like far cry 2 and some of the maps created with the editor included.
maybe a compromise would be to offer standard side scrolling and full 3d maps where you can choose which style to create.
just imagine a full 3d editor for lbp that used the arc, would make creating levels a much more fluid experience without having to think about which control you have to use to make your creation rotate this way or stretch that way, it would also work for the 2d mode too.

Yeah Haz is right, the people who can get to grips with LBP’s create can make some truely awesome things. That calculator was mind-blowing.
I’d wager that even the best creations in MNR are still going to be very MNR constrained, if that makes sense.

Lol, when did pointing out the obvious become a rumour? I hear Microsoft might make Gears of War 3 as well :P

I remember when I posted in the forums an extract from the OPM’s rumours mill saying that there was a Metal Gear Solid 4 trophy patch coming up. We all know the situation on that! :)

I would still love a Trophy patch for MGS4 – it’s sold 5 million copies so it’s not as if it wouldn’t be worth their while. It’s never too late to add it, people that got the game at launch like me would relish the excuse to dust of the game and start it again from stratch!

It’d make me play it again and possibly level up a could of times on MGO if they did.

aye apparently a guy from the IGN podcast said ‘a very good game’ is getting a trophy patch, with IGN to post the story tomorrow! We will see. Not holding my breath, but I reckon its gonna be MGS4 if anything:P

Just to be clear the “Sony haven’t even mentioned some of the major titles they’ve got lined up for the PS3 this year” bit isn’t from the rumour section its from an interview with Michael Denny.

It would be good, definitely. The lack of level packs right now is rather annoying. Sure, you have MGS and PotC, but that’s 10 levels added on to the original 25 or so (plus challenges), and the online levels are nowhere near as polished as the ones that MM make. Even if they didn’t redesign the engine, I would be happy with a horde of sttory levels.

i would have much rathered more and more DLC for LBP. I think it is perfect and dont see what a new title could bring to the table. Altho some people mentioned 3D and easier create, which would be very good. If this doesnt happen though, or nothing major, i dont think i will buy it.
