39Reports are emerging this morning that Sony have filed a trademark for PlayStation Arc in Japan, which is quite a coincidence considering that this is the name being rumoured for the new controller.
The fact that they have now trademarked the name, registered a domain name and had numerous industry execs calling the PS3 wand PlayStation Arc seems to point to the fact that this is the name of the device.
There is no official confirmation other than the evidence above, so as always in this case, make of this what you will.
