There are many new technologies on show at GDC, however perhaps one of the most interesting comes from Paris Based developer Darkworks and their new TriOviz for Games SDK.

It is being reported that this new software will allow standard 2D games to be played in 3D and the best part is that this will all take place on a standard tv, eradicating the need to spend out thousands on a new 3DTV.

The software works by combining with the 3D glasses and “leveraging the depth-of-field while maintaining the original gameplay and colour integrity.” What all this means is that you do not need any special gameplay modes to play in 3D and therefore any observers in the room would be able to view the game as they would normally, without any blur.

Any existing games can utilize this technology, therefore if it takes off we can expect to see new dlc appearing to help support our favorite games sometime in the future.
