Monkey Island 2 Confirmed For PS3

LucasArts has revealed that the ‘Special Edition’ of Monkey Island 2 will be arriving on Playstation 3 as well as Xbox 360. We reported a rumour on this last Sunday and during the GDC it was confirmed.

The special edition will see the return of HD graphics, a re-mastered musical score, full voiceover as well as an in-depth hint system. In a new development you will be able to control Guybrush Threepwood directly using a joypad or use the traditional point and click method.

Home fans will be able to shiver their timbers as special Monkey Island 2 costumes will be available.

Excellent. Monkey Island is legendary. They need to release the Discworld and Broken Sword games on PSN too.

  I saw footage of realMyst on gog.com the other day and I felt it looked worse than the old versions graphics-wise as they’d tried to 3D everything.
  
  I’ve never actually played it though so an HD version priced right might tempt me to try it.

  You know they had Maniac Mansion as a hidden game within Day of the Tentacle if you played with one of the computers in the mansion. They could do that again :-)

    WOW 2 classics in 1. MM was the first game I ever bought. Had to play it on a Monochrome PC (086!). Think it must have been very early 90′s :-)
