Quoting “mysterious sources,” Jim Sterling over at Destructoid is claiming an MMO based on 2K Games’ BioShock universe could be in the works. Of course, this isn’t the first time rumours of BioShock expanding into new genres has been mooted. Plans for a film are rife, while Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick himself intimated back in March 2008 that an MMO based on the property was being considered.
As a setting, with its dystopian mindset and Randian outlook on life, it hardly screams out as the perfect playground for RPG fans to spend some time in. But could its off-kilter and unique perception be just what the somewhat stale and predictable MMO genre needs?
A focus more on objectivism than orc-slaying? Only time will tell if this one has legs. Consider the plausibility of this actually happening to be quite specious to say the least for now.
