What’s sure to excite those with an interest in the more technical side of gaming, a slew of industry mavens have been confirmed as Develop speakers; gaming’s intelligentsia entrusted with forging ahead and defining how the future of the industry will evolve.

Heralded as a ‘dream dozen,’ the list reads like a veritable who’s-who of some of the movers and shakers in the developer community. Here’s the roll-call along with a quick blurb of what the guys will be discussing at the conference:

  • Mick Hocking (SCEE): 3DTV: The next dimension in game graphics
  • Andrew Oliver (Blitz Games Studios): All the right moves: grasping the possibilities of motion controllers
  • Alan Yu (ngomoco): The iPhone developers’ conference call
  • Gabe Zichermann (beamMe): Yesterday’s games designers – tomorrow’s social tech innovators
  • Richard Bates (SCEE): Technical perspectives on the evolution of SingStar from game to service on PlayStation®3
  • Jim Blackhurst & Mike Oldman (Square Enix): Opening up player metrics to the community in Just Cause 2
  • Jasper Koning (Ronimo Games): Working with WiiWare: From Student Developers to Swords and Soldiers
  • Jerome Hagen (Microsoft): Usability Testing: Time-honoured Practices
  • Paul Flanagan (Ariadne Capital), Nic Brisbourne (DFJ Esprit LLP), Sean Seton-Rogers (PROfounders Capital), Carlos Espinal: Forget Dragon’s Den: What Venture Capital really means for you

The above will be joined by the previously announced Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk, co-founders of BioWare who are also keynoting the event. Other speakers include Activision’s Adam Levenson, who will be handling the Audio Keynote, Louis Castle from Instant Action, and David Helgason of Unity Technologies.

The Develop conference will be held at Brighton’s Hilton Metropole in the UK from July 13th to the 15th. Considering Brighton is the hometown of TSA’s one and only Wotta, you can expect TheSixthAxis to be there; harassing developers with probing questions and likely absorbing as much of the free wares on offer before being promptly escorted off the premises.
