Further to our story about Crytek working on a PSP game, speculation fuelled by the magical scrying tool that is LinkedIn, it looks like the German developer may still be hammering away on their much-mooted MMO. At least, if you delve into the professional merits of one current employee and another former worker (who’s now at Ubisoft), it looks that way.
It’s not the first time a Crytek MMO has reared its speculative head over the last year or so. Destructoid’s Nick Chester has also followed the virtual breadcrumbs down the rabbit hole a little more and has come up with something that at least sounds plausible. With Crytek’s recent purchase of Bulgaria-based and historical RTS developer Black Sea Studios, not to mention the recent registration of a bucket of URLs with the word “Kingdoms” in the title, we could be looking at a fantasy MMO/RTS powered by Crytek’s juggernaut CryEngine 2 technology.
Or it could be something completely different.
