Live events are nothing new in the gritty world of Hunt Showdown. However, this latest event – dubbed Serpent Moon – is being touted as the biggest one to date, adding a slew of new features.
Here’s a quick “tl;dr” for bounty hunters in a hurry. This latest Hunt Showdown event will run for 60 days, dishing out rewards via “The Gilded Path” – a battle pass that comes in three different flavours, including free, standard, and premium.
The event is called Serpent Moon for a reason. Snakes have infested the Bayou and will attack players if they wander too close to their hissing hives, the noise alone being enough to give away your position. By killing or catching these snakes, you can sacrifice them to earn Event Points for the Showdown battle pass.
Developer Crytek has been cranking out new playable hunters at a steady clip, The Viper being its latest creation. What’s particularly neat about them is that they will “evolve” as you unlock tiers on The Gilded Path, dynamically changing their appearance.

Hopefully, these rewards won’t require too much grinding. Those players who happen to max out the battle pass will keep earning point, working their way up the leaderboard for a potential end-of-season reward, the top prize being 4000 Hunt Dollars + 200 Blood Bonds.
Having recently celebrated its fourth birthday, Hunt Showdown is being adapted into a live action series exclusively for free streaming platform, Binge, later this year. That’s not all Crytek has planned for its popular shooter, teasing some pretty big changes and updates coming soon. Hopefully, this includes a beefed up version of the game on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
