As confirmed by SCEE’s community team, the PSN will go down tomorrow and will be offline until Thursday.

The downtime, which SCEE are saying is “scheduled maintenance”, will start at 4pm BST on Wednesday and will continue until 04.30 BST on Thursday, just over 12 hours.

During the downtime, you’ll be unable to access the PlayStation Store, Account Management and Account Registration.

You should still be able to sign into the PSN and play games, “provided you have signed in recently”.  If you wish to play online during the downtime, we’re being told to be signed in before 4PM on the 9th, and stay signed in.

The PlayStation Store will be updated at an earlier time than normal tomorrow to allow fans to make purchases from the update.

The maintenance is either for a new firmware update, or some kind of change to the PSN Store.  Start your speculation now!
