Sony: Two Huge Announcements

When Sony jump on the ‘Announcements of announcements’ bandwagon, well, that’s the last bastion of decent journalism out the window for us because we’re all over it.

“Who said weekends are quiet?” says the Tweet, giving nothing away other than a wee dose of integrity, “two huge announcements on the EU PS Blog on Saturday morning!”

We’re hoping that the announcements are huge indeed, this is breaking my heart.

    Seriously Sony, STOP ANNOUNCING THINGS THIS CLOSE TO E3. Whilst you may have an amazing conference planned, think how much better it could have been with:
    Infamous 2 announcement
    Killzone 3 announcement
    LittleBigPlanet 2 announcement
    MotorStorm: Apocalypse announcement

    Whilst none are shocking, the fact that there is 4 new PS3 exclusives in development would make for a good announcement at E3. But they’ve jumped the gun..

    • But think, what have they got saved for us at E3? If they’re getting the obvious sequels out of the way, what you think they’re saving up for? Monster Hunter PS3? Final Fantasy VII Remake? Sony know what they’re doing, I think they’re going to steal the show.

    • They may have jumped the gun but by jumping the gun they have gained themselves 1 months free advertising as all gaming sites begin talking about the announcements.
      If they had announced these at E3 they would have got no where near as much coverage as they currently have.
      They must have something left over as sony know how important it is to put on a good show at E3 so they must have something up there sleeve.

  3. Well given that it’s the European Playstation Blog, I think it’s the re-reveal of The Getaway 3 and Eight Days. Both projects were put “on-hold” for SingStar, EyePet and Playstation Home but I think they’ve returned back to them.
    What you think then?

    • [continued]…and seeing that both games were being developed by studios in Europe (London, England specifically), it’s quite possible.

  4. I’d like Resistance 3 to be one of them. They’re probably relatively un-huge though

    • Also, I thnik it could have something to do with the new models of Playstation leaked yesterday/earlier

  6. Killzone 3 gameplay video and news about Qriocity coming to PS3.

    • I’ve no idea what it could be, but there was just a rather large downtime so it has to be something to do with that.

  7. Why are people getting so worked up about pre-E3 announcements? Whilst E3 is a great place for the odd surprise, it’s actually all about showing off their games and new hardware. I don’t mind any mentions of “Resistence 3 is coming” as it’ll make me look forward to E3 even more with trailers and/or in-game action.
