Square Enix have today announced a brand new action title exclusively for the PSP called Lord of Arcana.

The game is set to feature “vast and powerful creatures” with a heavy emphasis on multiplayer action via ad-hoc connections, allowing up to four players to team-up and face hordes of enemies. According to Square Enix you will be able to create your own avatar as well as creating and customising weapons from “thousands of different combinations” in order to achieve the ultimate goal of obtaining the power of Arcana. Combat is described as “simple yet rewarding,” with “brutal moves” performed simply, too.

Visuals are being touted as “incredible”, pushing the hardware to its limits. The game’s monsters have been designed by a group of “world-renowned” artists and DLC is already being lined up. Lord of Arcana is confirmed for both Europe and PAL regions but the release date has yet to be announced.

If Lord of Arcana is looking like your sort of game, check out the official website for more information.

    • They did one once. It’s all been FPS’s and flight sims since then.

  3. Visuals look a little bland to me, it’s got a way to go before it matches Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, some really low res textures on the terrain.

If the best that “world renowned artists” can come up with is a lava monster with a mouth in it’s belly (made me think of Tekken 5boss), I don’t think Team ICO need feel threatened.
