PlayStation Plus – Vote For The Games

People certainly have been vocal on the subject of PlayStation Plus. Whilst some have signed up without question, others have sat back and asked “why?”  It seems content is at the centre of many arguments, with month one perhaps not living up to expectations.

Sony Europe is keen to change this – but they have requested your help.  They want you to tell them what games you would like to see on PlayStation Plus in the future.  The categories are as follows;

  • PSN titles
  • PS One Classics
  • minis
  • PS3 titles for full game trial

All suggestions will be collected, checked for viability and then a shortlist will be posted for people to vote on.  So go and leave a comment and then cross your fingers!

What games would it take for you to sign up to PlayStation Plus?

  1. Hmmmm, All of them? ;)

    • That would be pretty good value :op

  2. For pity sake, drop PS1 classics now!
Has anyone actually bought a classic and enjoyed playing it again in low rez, low detail, and looking naff?
I’ve bought quite a few and not one did my memory any justice.

    • Funny you should say that – I downloaded Destruction Derby on the weekend…wished I hadn’t!

      • I did the same although i did give it a couple of plays before realising i wanted DD2 lol When will they put ps2 games up?

      • Destruction derby was awful!!! I could live with the shoddy graphics if it wasn’t for the naff handling!

      • I don’t why…. destruction derby isn’t even good unless the sequels were better

      • the only ps1 games that r worth playing is the crash badicuit they really r timeless classics

      • I’ve only downloaded Crash Bandicoot + CB2 from the US Store. Timeless, and the graphics aren’t bad for a PS1 game

      • yeh DD2 is where it’s at!

    • *raises hand*

      • what game was it?
@Dan Lee, my first classic was DD too! OMG Epic Fail.
It looks horrendous. Why on Earth can Sony not tweak the game so it has AA and HD capabilities?

      • From playing DD as 2 year old game, I remember it being horrible. Now DD2, that’s a different story…

      • DD looks great still on the psp, handling still sucks though! lol

    • got G-Police…….absolute pants

Crash bandicoot on the other hand………. :)

    • PS2 classics. Now your talking!

      • I’d sign up instantly. (Depends on the games of course)

      • Ther’s a lot more PS2 games a would rather play than PS1 ones.

    • Oddworld says Hi!

      • duuuuude, Oddworld is so awesome, I just wish you could save at any point like a normal emulated game. I used to have them on the PC and a restart from 3 seconds ago was a simply F6 button press away. it makes me sad they couldnt have this feature.

      • With you there – oddworld is fantastic. Downladed it and best fun in ages

    • I would say Syphon Filter totally killed my fond memories of it when i dl’d it from the Store, DREADFUL!

I’m not being funny but IMO PS1 Classics have had their day we should be dl’ing PS2 games now from the Store.

      • Really!? I played a few levels from Syphon Filter 2 the other day and I thought it was fantastic!

    • Yeah, PSOne Classics have aged really badly compared to their 16-bit 2D predecessors’ Must be something to do with 3D-ropeyness and very low resolution polygons rather than cartoony sprites

    • Final Fantasy. Nuff said.

    • Drop them from a great height.I bought syndicate. Wish I hadn’t . I played it for 2 mins then deleted, probably took longer to down load .

    • Yes, Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9.

      • Metal Gear Solid = Highest reated game on the store.
PSOne Classics are better on PSP than PS3 though.

      • *rated

      • Agreed. MGS looks pretty fine on PSP. Although Peace Walker looks hawt.

    • CRASH BANDICOOT 3. That is all.

    • Play Final Fantasy IX, Metal Gear Solid, Crash games, Oddworld, Kurushi Final, Future Cop and Silent Hill (unavailable)…. okay that’s enough to play and now there isn’t a reason to drop Playstation

    • They are great on the PSP!

  3. PS+ is pointless in almost every way. You pay £40 and then you have to pray that a game that you kinda want is a little bit cheaper than normal and wait 5 months for it to get the discount!? Just buy the games you want!

    • With PSN Card discounts PS+ costs between £30-£40 (maybe less if you trade-in unused game gathering dust) Within 2 months the included content pays for itself, effectively giving 10 months free

      Bargain of the century IMO

      • I disagree. Even if you’re paid only £30 for ps+ it’s still going to take a long time to get that back. Nobody wants LBP as everybody who ever wanted to play that already has done. So you’re left only with discounts. Fair enough if you buy every game that’s discounted, but nobody wants to buy crap games. So if you only buy the good games that are discounted, and the good games you haven’t already bought – then after a year, maybe, just maybe, you might get your £30 back (if you’re lucky).

      • I agree with cawley, there’s no guarantee that you’ll get an overall discount on items, since most you might have already bought or you wont want. It seems a wasted opportunity to me.

      • Tony, you seem to think that LBP is the only free game they give you? Anyone who didn’t gave Wipeout has £12 back already, KZ2 DLC, another £5, Fieldrunners (Probably the best Mini) and the other one, about £7 I think. Then the (Admittedly dreadful) PS1 classic, themes and avatars round it up to between £25-£30.

Add that to the discounts, and the fact we’ve only had 1 out of the 12 months and I’d say I have to agree with CC, huge bargain.

      • Little big planet i bought years ago. Wipeout i bought years ago. Kz map packs i bought when they came out. Couldn’t be less interested in mini’s or ps1 games. There’s genuinely nothing of interest.

      • Nobody has LBP to download and those that do have the disk version will be free to sell it, reducing the price still further. I’d probably even play LBP if I had it installed.

I don’t have WipEout HD, but regardless there’s going to be some overlap in the first months or 2 whilst the service catches up with the content on the PSN.

The Full Game Trials is worth its weight in gold for me, there aren’t many games I play for more than an hour or so, those that I do I play through to completion so it will enable me to save up to £40 per duff purchase.

Then there is the range of PSN titles, PSOne Classics & Minis, value, value, value!

Couple of months and its easily pays for itself and that not even taking into account the next 9 or 10 months

and then there is the discounts – which I’m not sure I’d use but I’m sure plenty will.

      • So it’s of use to some, including you, but not to others, including me. I believe there are a lot of people like me who just don’t see the value in it as it is now. If they introduce the option of some good, modern games then i’ll start considering it, but while the games they’re including are old and no longer relevant for me i’m just not interested.

  4. Month 3 of PS+, CrossGameChat is released.
Users of PS+ goes up by 9000%.

I bought PS+ first day and have been loving Wipeout HD, it’s such a good buy and i’m surprised i’m the only one with the plus symbol on my friends list, even if the list is small!

    • +1 for XGC

    • Hey Aroxi. I’m in the same boat. I like ps+ and no one on my friend list has it. Add me if you want to your list. Tanster

  5. Well that’s my 2 cents added, though it seems like most people on there share my opinion that the auto download feature needs sorting out, there should be a choice of downloadable content for those who are already heavy psn users and that 1 hour trials should be for NEW games.

    • I had to download a patch the other day. I thought it was suppposed to do it for me?

  6. I’ve asked for
    Broken Sword: Director’s Cut, Broken Sword 2 & 3
    Beneath A Steel Sky: Remastered
    Machinarium
    Limbo
    Lost In Shadow
RealMYST, Riven, Myst III Exile, Myst IV, Myst V
    Discworld 1 + 2
The Path, F.A.T.A.L.E. and the rest of Tale Of Tales’ unique experiences.

  7. Here’s what I want to see:
PSN Titles: Trine (Loved the demo)
PS1 Classics: Disney’s Action Game Feat. Hercules (memories as a child)
Mini’s: Bloons TD & Bloons (Great online games)
Full Game Trials: Blur & Toy Story 3 (Never played but wan’t to)

Lets all vote for them and make me happy…ehh?

  8. can anyone remember rollcage for ps1?, that was a great game i would love to see that on the playstation store, or possible a remake? that would be awesome, ive got 1 and 2 on disc but the graphics are too bad and i cant play lol

    • Yeah, that was a great game! Spent far too many hours trying to win a time-trial competition that OPM ran with the demo of it. I failed…

      • lol, ah the good old ps1 demo discs aswell, sony must have all the old ps1 games backed up on a hard drive or something why cant they just upload them to psn or put about 50 of them on a blu-ray disc lol, ps1 demos will probably be only about 50mb at the max, they should give ps1 demos to playstation plus subscribers, like you can choose any 10 each month something like that

  9. Virtually everything so far on playstation + I already had. So i’m hoping there will be some free stuff that i haven’t already got in the months to come..

  10. The arrival of PS2 games to the store would be fantastic.

    I can dream!

    • We all can ;-)

    • no itll NEVER HAPPEN I GUARANTEE because if they do tht they have to make the ps3 ps2 compatible, and they would not be able to sell new ps2s anymore so NO! id love it though :/
