It’s EA’s Annual Studio Showcase today, and we’ve been told that there’s going to be new game announcements. The event, which will be streamed live on GameSpot.com here, will feature all the news as it happens, kicking off at 1PM Pacific Summer Time.
Yes, we’re expecting little other than the next FIFA, the next Tiger Woods, the next Fight Night (which kinda already slipped out) but we’re also hoping for a few other treats from the event – a HD remake of Road Rash, or, even better, a brand new SSX, anyone? Please, EA.
Rumours are flicking between there being seven new games revealed, and just two – we’ll have anything worth printing once the event kicks off.

Would be awesome if they brought back SSX. Still the best snowboarding game(s) in my humble opinion!

Absolutely… I really loved “On Tour”. It’s crying out to be released in HD glory.

We definitely need an SSX remake. I would snap that up right away.

I vote for SSX too. The levels were so wonderfully designed in Tricky. Just imagine how utterly stunning they could look with the PS3′s extra grunt under the bonnet.

I hope so! It’s the best damn headline we’ve had in a while. Made me LOL while ROFL, to the tune of OMG!

Dear EA,
Please can I have an HD remake of Road Rash on the XBLA and PSN?
Please can I also have a reboot of the SSX franchise, that was awesome. You could probably even make this a full disc-based game if you include plenty of slopes, modes and riders.
Finally, please can I have an HD remake of the “Strike” series? I think this would be brilliant if it was episodic (and online co-op would probably be popular too). We could have a Desert Strike episode followed by a Jungle Strike episode then Urban Strike and Nuclear Strike. Each episode would only need one decently-sized map filled with pick-ups and odjectives and a range of missions. Anything else would be considered a bonus.
People would probably pay for these things, I would tell them about how great the originals were and we’d all be really excited about the releases.
I would definitely pay for these things and I wouldn’t even ask for Mrs C’s permission. I’d put my foot down and risk “the look” because I know I would have some awesome HD remakes to comfort me.
Love n’ hugs,
Big Pete.

I hope you realise that EA stands for Electronic Arts, not Santa.
We can only hope…

Mirror’s Edge 2 maybe, they’ve already confirmed theyve been working on it a while back, but I dont think Burnout will be getting any love since Criterion is working on Need for Speed now.
