Vanquish is Sega’s upcoming sci-fi based third person shooter. It looks beautiful and more than a little bit insane but then Shinji Mikami is the name behind it and he’s most well-known for games like Viewtiful Joe, Onimusha: Warlords and the Resident Evil series so we wouldn’t expect anything less.

Sega have gotten in touch this afternoon to let us know that there’s a demo inbound on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Store on the 31st August in North America and the 1st September in Europe (2nd of Sep for Australia). Players will take on the role of Sam, a US government agent with a fancy battle suit. You can choose between casual and normal difficulty settings and use your array of weaponry (and “walkers”!) to take down your enemies. The demo will reach a crescendo with a boss character called Argus.

Check out these pretty screens to whet your appetite while we wait for the demo.

  4. might be okay, not big on sci-fi. but will give it ago, never know until you try. That is the reason i feel all games should have demos. if i like the demo, ill get the game. if no demo, i wouldn’t even pick it up to look at the case.lol

  6. If it’s as imaginative, entertaining and different as Bayonetta but with guns I think it’ll be a grand old title. As long as there are no eastern style tank controls anywhere to be found it might well have my money.
Demos are a great idea but I struggle with my download limits / speeds. It took about half a day and half my monthly allowance for the Lost Planet 2 demo. 20 minutes later… well let’s just say that wasn’t the bargain of the month for me!

  7. I’ve been liking the look of this for a while so while I typically try most demos, I’ll be looking forward to this with anticipation.

    • If you have a PS3 download it on that. It will be the same if not better than the 360 version.
