21Remember the mysterious puzzle piece we got last week? Well, the puzzle’s over – Futurlab have announced their new game, following on from Coconut Dodge, will be a vertical scrolling space shoot ‘em up featuring a rather cool teleport mechanic. We know it’s cool, because we’ve seen it and we can safely say we’ve not seen anything like this before.

However, just now, said game doesn’t have a name. Yep, the developers are asking gamers to come up with a name – via their website – and in doing so anyone shortlisted will be credited in the game and will receive a free copy once it’s out. Head on over to the site to take part, find out more about the game, and have a look around to see if there’s any other cool stuff you can find…

You might also be wondering why the ‘solved’ puzzle said the 7th of September and yet here we are with the announcement on the 6th… Dates, eh?

Didn’t Pixeljunk do this and end up with the groundbreakingly original title ‘Shooter’ ?

Hi folks,
Yes, unfortunately the US blog let the cat out of the bag a day early, but hey – it’s not the end of the world… yet.
The naming of the game idea is an homage to your man Tuffcub, but rather than let him name the game himself, I thought we’d give him some competition :p
Cheers :)

It’s to do with tuffcub? Then my suggestion (above) has the finest acronym possible!
TSA Staff – please lock this article. No other entries necessary. :-)

If I can’t think of any decent gameplay suggestions, does that effect the chances of a winning submission?

No, if you’ve got a great name suggestion, it’ll go into the pot :)

Aaaarrrrghh Coconuts! (or thereabouts) was clearly the best name ever – I hope this competition turns up a name of equal calibre :D Can’t wait to see a preview of the game, this teleport mechanic sounds intriguing!

Is this because we all wanted the name for coconut dodge changed

It sounds promising although if they’re looking for gameplay ideas it could be a long way off still.
