Zavvi is exclusively selling a Limited Edition version of Platinum Games’ upcoming third-person shooter, Vanquish. It comes with a 7 inch figurine of the game’s protagonist – Sam Gideon – which looks fairly good. My main problem though is the price – which is £55 if you pre-order (not too bad), but a whopping £70 if you don’t.
Vanquish is released on October 22nd for PS3 and Xbox 360, although Zavvi apparently aren’t delivering this version until October 29th. A demo of the game is now available.

Quite enjoyed the demo, kind of game i reckon i’d pick up on the cheap to play through the story. I definitely wouldn’t be spending 70 smackers for the privilege, not at all interested in geeky game character models either.

Figure looks ok, although plastic :|

What is a bit silly is that they sell the normal game with a special cover for only £29. You pay a lot more just for some crappy figure.

Demo was a nice surprise (thank you PS+) and I have to say that special edition or not I may have to pick this one up! unfortunatley October is looking very busy, as it is every year and I just hope this game has enough to set itself apart from the tidal wave of games hitting us between now and xmas.

Slightly bizarre SE version. Especially at that price for a new IP too. Having said that, I must try the demo.

nah too many games this year to be buying special editions
