Black Ops Price Roundup

It’s the annual “Who is selling Call Of Duty the cheapest?” news item. There are plenty of offers on the table but it looks like newcomer Best Buy who have the cheapest no-strings price of just £29.99 on the day of release.

The best trade-in price comes from Blockbuster who will charge you 99 pence – yes, 99p – but you have to trade in two of the following games – Medal of Honor, Fable III, Fallout: New Vegas, MMA, F1 2010 or Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II.  Asda will give you the game for a fiver but you only need to trade in Fable III or Fallout: New Vegas.

The supermarkets seem to be asking you to buy other items to get the game cheap, with Sainsburys offering the game for £27.97 when you spend £30 or more in-store – if you need to do a bit of shopping this may be your best deal.

These are the deals so far, if we hear of any more we will keep you updated.

  1. I’ll be trading in Medal of Honor to HMV, then buying it again in a few months when it’s dropped in price making the overall cost of Black Ops nice and cheap.

    • Yeah, I’m thinking I might do that too.

      • thats what I am doing too. Don’t have a Blockbuster round my way anyway.

      • I’m probably just leave it at HMV after trading, finishing Medal of Honor felt like a chore.

  2. I’m off to tesco as I need a psn voucher anyway so will save money either way, a win win deal :)

    • I am getting mine from HMV but I know a mate has preordered it from Tescos so I think I may give a tenner and let him pay £45 for the game + PSN card. He will save a fiver and I will get a PSN card for £10

  3. I’ll be picking it up from Tesco’s then!

  4. My nearest Best Buy is 75 miles away in Derby, Asda at midnight here I come
    I cant wait!!!

  5. Has anyone else heard about this on Wikipedia. It said this;
“Game.co.uk have already sent out copies of the game to anyone who pre-ordered a day early (8/11/2010)”.
If this is true, then WTF?

  6. Best Buy UK were selling it (last Friday) for a brief period at £29.99 so managed to get a copy from there.

    • Yeah. I’ve been reading on cvg. Turns out several people managed to buy it as well and some independent retailers have owned up to selling it early.

      • Yes, one of my PSN friends was playing it Saturday evening. Mind you I got mine 2 days early last year for COD MW 2.

  7. I`ve preordered from Shopto £42 i think :(

  8. I got it pre-ordered with shopto, any1 else? Mys status has said order complete for a few days but i have had no emails or anything.. Any1 havin the same thing?

    • In the forums, there are people in the same boat.

      • I had an email saying my order was being processed but ive got had an email sayinf its been dispatched, got that last wednesday i think, and order was completed on the 4th

    • Lots of people talking about this across the net.

It seems a lot of people either didn’t get the email, or didn’t read it, that said they’re processing Thursday/Friday but only shipping on Monday due to Activision forcing them to.

It’s annoying as my post is being hella-slow recently and if I order using normal first class post instead of recorded it gets stolen along the way.

However, I’m sad enough to pick up a copy in town tomorrow if it doesn’t arrive and simply send it back to ShopTo when it does.

  9. If you can get to Best Buy then do so they are fab. I saved £60 last time, got Iron Man 2 for a tenner and Aliens box set and BTTF box set both for 20 quid – all on blu ray.

  10. I’ve read that Morrisons are doing the same sort of thing as GAME.
But i’ve also read that they could change the price on release day so i’ll wait till tomorrow methinks.

    • They definitely are, good call
My girlfriend works in Admin at Morrisons and has just confirmed that its £29.99 when you buy any other chart title then 39.99 on it own
