Back To The Future Debut Trailer

As a movie franchise, seminal 80s classic Back To The Future lends itself exceptionally well to today’s episodic gaming model. The possibility of time-themed adventures are endless – literally – and the property is still well-loved by a generation of gamers who grew up with Marty, Doc and Biff. Not to mention a whole new slew of fans who’ve since discovered these timeless (no pun intended) event movies.

So it was almost a no-brainer when it was announced that Tell Tale Games were bringing Back To The Future to the gaming arena. Five episodes in total are planned: ‘It’s About Time’, set for release this month; ‘Get Tannen!’, due in February; ‘Citizen Brown’ will launch in March; with ‘Double Visions’ the following month before the grand finale, ‘Out of Time’, sometime after.

Christopher Lloyd lends his voice, though Marty’s dialogue is actually provided by AJ LoCascio. Check out the debut trailer below; it really does sound like Michael J. Fox. Good job AJ.

The game will be released on PC, Mac, iPad and PS3. We have no idea what happened to the Xbox 360 version. Maybe the Libyans got to it.

      Read before you post!

      • No he is asking if this trailer is from the Ipad version, because he thinks the quality is a bit poor.

Think it will be the same over all ports, but I personally don’t think it looks too bad.

      • Ahhh I see well I don’t know either but I’m not bothered about graphics. Gameplay is important to me.

    • After watching the trailer, my only gripe is with the animation of the mouths. Very, very wooden. However, I really like the style of the animation in general. No need for ultra-realistic. This will do juuust right.

      • Yeah! I actually quite liked the visual style in the trailer.

    • PS2/Wii graphics are great

  2. Woooooo! It doesn’t look like it’ll ruin the franchise either, good times!

  3. Had no interest in it, but this trailers made me really keen.

They will no doubt all come out at the same time for a bundle price so probably wait for that.

  4. :D

    • Up for ‘Front Page Comment of the Year Award’, I see. :-p

      • That was a picture perfect representation of my face as I was watching it!

  5. Iranians? How abot Libyans, holding the 360 version until they get their plutonium back!

    • Ouch! Shameful mistake. Corrected. My (Libyan) thanks.

    Hahaha BRILLIANT
Great stuff Kovacs made my day despite heavy snow here at work. Anyhoo will wait for a review.
Might get the trilogy on blu ray =D

  7. Reminds me a bit of Sam & Max. Now if I get to control a Hoverboard I’m sold.

    • Well it was created by the same company. Which is why the graphics style is like that.
I hate how people are thinking this game will be bad just because the visuals are cartoony. What else do you expect from a Telltale game? I think the game will be brilliant. :)

  8. The character design looks so much like Beyond Good and Evil !
I’ll keep my eye on this !

  9. Looks great :D

  10. I couldn’t help but have a smile on my face at the end of that trailer. BTTF WTF!
