Knights Contract Signs on Next February

Namco today announced that their upcoming action adventure title, Knights Contract, would be launching in Europe on February 25th. Developed by Game Republic, the game is set in a medieval Europe, where witchcraft and foul sorcery is afoot. Players assume the role of Heinrich Hofmann, an executioner cursed with immortality by Gretchen, one of the young witches he had slain. When the land is suddenly tainted by monster and aberitions from another realm, Gretchen returns to fight alongside Heinrich as they both try and fight against the scourge.

In a similar fashion to the developer’s last game, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, there is a clear focus on co-operative play. Though Heinrich is impervious to death, he still has to protect Gretchen. The nature of the couple’s relationship is confusing to say the least, and it will be interesting to see what Game Republic can do with these characters.

There is no official word on an American release date, though we expect to see one published in the coming weeks.

  1. Hmm.. I never heard of this title before. It sounds interesting though.

    • Check the related stories section above. We covered it when it was first announced YONKS ago.
      :)

  2. Looks abit like Nemesis

  3. Never heard of this either… Tried the Majin & tFK demo, which to me was somewhat awful as it felt like a game made only to make money and not to be a great game. It felt mediocre on every factor… Hopefully this will be good though, I mean it has to be seeing it has “The Hoff” in it.

    • Fair enough. I played the demo for Majin and I really liked it. Though it has some complex mechanics, they are executed in a simplistic way.

      • I see your point. The voice of the majin though… it made me wanna shut the console down right away. I wanted to like it though, so I finished the demo. But it just didn’t feel like a new game.
