Artwork Emerges From Cancelled Midway Project

Due to the company’s liquidation earlier this year, Midway’s upcoming projects were either cancelled or put on hold; the most notable being ‘This Is Vegas’ – a high-rolling, open world adventure. With the assets resting in the hands of Warner Bros. Interactive there still may be a future for the game, but no doubt gamers will be more interested in Midway’s other project, which they had yet to announce: Hero.

Concept artist Stephan Martiniere, who also worked on Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, uploaded a piece drafted for the game, depicting a man wielding a blade, holding the hand of a small child in a desolate city. It definitely looks interesting, though sadly, it’s likely to be the last we ever see of Hero.

  1. Bummer, looks intriguing. Feel sorry for all the people who lost their jobs too.

  2. Shame, looks quite cool, then again concepts always do.

    • Yeah, this is exactly what I thought. Tbh, the concept picture looks like it could be pulled from pretty much anything and would make a good film, TV series, book or whatever.

    • i agree concepts always look amazing

  3. Is that someone hovering in the air? Looks cool.

  4. It’ll keep – canned superheroes have a good shelf-life! :)

  5. This looks quite good, I imagine these two will be put back into production once the new MK releases this year… they seem to be putting all their eggs in the MK basket at the moment.

  6. *Sheds a tear for the lost hero*
