Beenox Assigned Lead Spider-Man Studio

After the moderately well-received Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Québec-based studio Beenox have been awarded the right to develop future Spider-Man titles for Activision. A subsidiary of the publishing giant, the studio have a history with the web-slinger having worked on Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: Friend or Foe.

On the appointment, Activisions Studios’ senior VP Patrick Kelly said:

Beenox’s creative vision reinvigorated the Spider-Man gaming experience among critics and fans in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions. We can’t wait to see where this talented studio will take this franchise in the future.

In other Spider-Man news, the first official image of Andrew Garfield as Parker in his signature tights was released by Sony yesterday. We’re assuming the actor will be heading up to Québec soon to be digitally scanned for the inevitable game tie-in of the franchise reboot.

  1. cool beans?

    • Personally I like them warm.

      • I like them with little sausages in amongst them on toast, with a dash of brown sauce.

Once I get MOH completed Ill be gunning for this game. SPIDERMAN IS AWESOME!

    • If you look up “Article Highjack” in the dictionary, there’s a picture of this thread.

      :)

  2. On topic (just for Kovacs!) – I am playing through Spiderman Shattered Dimensions at the moment & it is actually a really good game. Not quite Spiderman 2 level of ‘good’ mind you (as that game really was all types of awesomeness), but the best since (IMO).
They have done really well with the source material.

  3. Shattered Dimensions was a decent punt at a Spider-Man game but some refinement and a bit of tweaking would be nice for a successor. I think Spider-Man has the potential to make a great game protagonist but he does pose some issues in control that are obviously quite tricky to overcome. Fair play to Beenox (and Acti) though, they did a solid job and are being allowed to carry that groundwork forward.

  4. Nice to see, some good games made, they have

  5. I hope it’s a good one, except for spiderman 2, they don’t really feel right

  6. Sounds like I should give Spiderman 2 a try. :)
