Everquest III, the recently announced third chapter in the insanely popular EverQuest series, looks set for a PS3 release. Following in the footsteps of DC Universe Online and upcoming The Agency, developer Sony Online Entertainment, who have a long history with the EverQuest brand, launching the first game way back in 1999, are returning to their baby with a reworked and new styled fantasy adventure.
Asked if EverQuest III will also see a console outing, SOE President John Smedley intentionally did a poor job of not confirming what surely must be viewed as the inevitable.
Can’t comment on that. All I can say is we are a Sony company, and we are very, very proud of the work we’ve done on DC Universe Online, which is multi-platform; and we are very, very proud of the work we have done on The Agency, which is multi-platform.
There’s some concept art over at the Eurogamer (linked below) if you’re interested. With superheroes and spies sated in SOE’s current batch of MMOs, will EverQuest III finally address the hole in many PS3 owners’ hearts desperate for a persistent online fantasy game?

John’s comment made me chuckle. I’ve never played an Everquest game, got no idea what its like.

Precisely HOW are they staying in place? Unless she’s superglued two chunks of armour to her nips i cant see how. And what’s the point? Dwarf boy has full armour and a helmet, woman is only protected if dwarf boy aims directly at her nips.
I’m feeling much beter. Flu almost gone. I can discuss nipples now, a sure sign i’m on the mend.

It’s the magical all-powerful force of censorship. Haven’t you met it before?

Best comic book quote ever (paraphrased), from cerebus:
Jaka (flashing her boobs at Cerebus): “What do you think of these”
Cerebus: “If you stop wearing chainmail bikinis they’ll probably heal”

Never heard of it?

Evercrack 3 eh?
So far I’ve managed to avoid the time sucking soul destroying work ending relationship souring friend filtering scourge that is mmorpg. Whilst I wish Sony all the best with this… pass.

What happened to free realms appearing on PS3?
RudeAwakening
never heard of this game and not really interested in mmo rpg’s.

Well that does it. If an official exec calls a game available on PC and only one console a multi platform game, it’s officially a multi platform game.
