In continuation of our theme for the day to post gorgeous looking screens from upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusives, here’s a look at inFamous 2. You will see, new-old Cole (our favourite kind) as well as plenty of electricity, some stunning backdrops and a few members of the supporting cast.

We’ll have impressions of the game just as soon as Alex is finished shooting the Helghan and gets a bit of rest. He’s having a manic couple of days.

  2. hmmm I dunno, the first one didn’t grab me and these screen don’t do much either to be honest.

    • I really enjoyed the first one, but I do find it odd that its in so many people’s top ten lists. There are lots better exclusives, let alone cross-platform games.

      • that is harsh when you have not even played a demo.

      • I mean the first one. I’m still looking forward to the second. My point was that I thought there were many more better games than inFamous 1, yet it keeps cropping up in peoples top 10s. It certainly wasn’t a bad game.

    • I really liked the first one but then again i like a good super hero story and the second reason is i like electric super powers if i could get them in real life i would :)

  3. Is this a continuation from the first inFamous, or just a new story with the (kinda) same guy?

    • It’s a full sequel, but everything’s been overhauled. So there’s a new city, new enemies, new characters etc. etc. It all continues to head to the same series finale that was indicated at the end of inFamous 1, though.

      • I’ve wondered for a while whether it will be possible to continue both good and evil Coles from the first game or whether the slate will effectively be wiped clean. Anyone got any idea?

      • You might start off with a “clean slate” in this new city, since nobody knows you..
So you might just start off totally neutral again. At least those are my thoughts :D

  5. I think the graphics engine has /really/ improved by a /huge/ amount since inFamous 1. Everything in it looks to be several notches up, and that’s very impressive considering it’s an open world game (though you can still see that in the screens).

One thing I find very cool, Cole is wearing split toe shoes. Only other game character to plunk for a camel toe was Faith in Mirror’s Edge. I’m a fan of that kind of shoe.

    • so let me get this straight: You’re a big fan of the camel toe? :D
Tabi boots, traditional ninja footwear, seem to have caught on with free runners and water sports people. Better balance, apparently.
Have you seen the shoes that have individual toes? Those are just weird.

      • They do shoes with individual toes?! Want! The socks are so damn comfy.

      • I’ve got a few pairs, Nike Air Rift is what you’re looking for if you want to look as weird as me. I tend to wear them in place of sandals when on holidays/festivals etc.
