Alongside the release of their annual financial earning statement (which we’ll get to soon) Nintendo have announced that they will be showing the Wii’s successor at E3.
A playable model of the new system will be present at E3 and will release next year, 2012.
Playable? So publishers have been working hard on this, then.

This just my view but i honestly believe that any console from here on out must have a bluray drive in it. The storage space of the disc alone out way the hit the system will take on drive speed,plus you get the benefit of people picking it up as a bluray player first then a game system second.

The PS3 benefited by being a cheap Blu-ray player because at the time of its launch Blu-ray players were still much more expensive. Now that potential advantage does not exist. You can find Blu-ray players from companies like Toshiba (oh, the irony) for as little as £60. Even the Wii was 3 times price that at launch.

Highest selling console and best household dust collector. I really hope for Nintendos sake that all of the shovel-ware released on their current generation hasn’t damaged their reputation beyond repair. Personally I very much doubt I will be shelling out for this purely on the promise of an HD Zelda, Mario or any other re-hash unless they can offer a genuinely new experience which doesn’t make you look like a prat when you play.

I don’t know anyone around my age, I’m 20, that has a a Wii, its mostly PS3 and 360 but I know a lot of kids and old people who have a Wii.
I don’t know if a Wii 2 will sell as good as the Wii as people will have had the experience and seeing its a dust collector I doubt people will buy the Wii 2, it’ll be a disappointment like the 3DS.

Get ready for games such as Nintendogs HD/3D. I always said the wii is for fat people and females. I myself am not interested but curious what they bring to the table.
