After much teasing, the debut trailer for the highly anticipated Tomb Raider reboot has finally been released. Lara Croft’s adventures have never been this intense before. It’s a new direction that really works for the franchise.
The CG trailer sets the mood quite perfectly. This will be a tale of survival and, from the looks of it, pain. There’s even a bit of a Snake Eater vibe going on. Let’s just hope that the gameplay comes close to matching the atmosphere of the trailer.
According to the video, Tomb Raider is scheduled to release sometime in Fall 2012.

i’m liking the vibe i’m getting from the trailer, i was worried that this reboot would contradict lara’s established origin, but now i think maybe it complements it.
like she survived the plane crash before, and now she’s setting out on these expeditions, but she doesn’t yet have all the skills she needs.
i can see a game where certain areas are inaccessible at the start and she acquires the skills or equipment needed to access them in the game, in the style of the soul reaver titles.
can’t wait to see some actual gameplay.
