Kinect Zoom Lens Heading To The UK Next Month?

Those unfortunate enough to follow me on Twitter will have seen my rather annoyed rantings at trying to play UFC Personal Trainer with a Kinect unit that seems to want 50ft of clear space.

So the news from GamingZap, a UK online store, that the Kinect Zoom Lens will be in stock in the UK on August 23rd makes me extremely happy.

The Zoom Lens clips onto Kinect, and is claimed to reduce the play space needed by 40 per cent. WIN! I’ll take ten.

  1. Isn’t this the thing that the guys were talking about on this weeks podcast. In which case you seem to have more power than you realise, you mention wanting it over here one day and the next it comes true.

    • yes, and I’m totally going to pretend it was our influence that made this happen.

      • Well clearly it was. This is TSA afterall, how can MS not listen to your wishes

      • I though Microsoft were trying to block the sale of this saying it wasnt an official add on or summat – I know they didnt like it at all.

  2. Like a wide-angle lens? That does sound interesting, but it leads to distortion usually?

  3. I’m guessing that if the lens alters the space needed, it will also alter any gestures you make. It’ll be interesting to read a review when you get your hands on one.

  4. It’ll be interesting when, after putting on the zoom lens, UFC Personal Trainer mentions, in a GLaDOS like voice – ‘I see you’ve managed to put on a few pounds’

  5. Sounds interesting, fortunately though my living room is a lot longer than wider (from the TV), giving me all the space I need :3

  6. Just goes to show that MS doesn’t give a crap about anywhere outside of the USA when Lounges are the size of… well, the size of those Lounges in those sickening Kinect adverts. UK Kinect should come with this device in the box to use if need be.

    • Why include it in the box when they can sell it as an extra!! Then in the near future they can sell a new model with it already built in…..business is business.
