THQ are in the process of rebuilding the way they do business. Among the slight commercial misfires like Red Faction: Armageddon and Homefront, there are successes like uDraw which is moving from its Wii beginnings to HD consoles later this year.
Metro seems to be absolutely central to the evolving company’s new outlook for so-called “core gamers”. The previous game, Metro 2033, flew under some people’s radars and it did have a little bit of catching up to do with regards to gunplay but it was atmospherically one of the best.
Now the sequel is making a concerted effort to streamline gameplay and appeal to a broader audience. THQ are also upping their marketing game a little and trying to get it into the public eye a bit more than its predecessor. Which brings us nicely to this second part of the gameplay footage which was playable at E3.

Looking pretty dramatic. for some reason i wish that was what the opening level of killzone felt like

Looks nice. Would like a demo, not entirely sold on post apocalyptic underground systems anymore. Little overused..

true but this is a pretty unique take on it. more like Stalker than Fallout

Awesome! Played through Metro 2033 recently after buying it on steam and loved it, so this will be a day one purchase :)

Nice.. I really liked the first game, so looking forward to this one. Dunno why they didn’t just call it Metro 2034 like the book tho, its not like we wont realise its a sequel..

Wow that looked like a really tense and dramatic moment, i can imagine what it feels like playing through it yourself. Love the atmosphere, will be keeping my eye on this.
Anyone know when this is hitting retail shelves?
