Burnout Crash! Trailer

EA have delivered a trailer for Burnout Crash!, the cartoon-ish spin off from the well respected racer.

As expected it features cars crashing – less unexpected are the lightning strikes, tornadoes and missiles.

It still looks a bit iPhone-y to me, there doesn’t seem to be much to the ‘flame’ animation and I do hope the screen doesn’t zoom in and out all the time as the trailer implies.

Burnout Crash! will arrive on the PSN and XBLA later this month. Have a look for yourselves, what do you think of the new Burnout?

  1. Ugh, had forgotten about this; I wish it had stayed that way.

    • My sentiments exactly. It’s like when you know you have to go to the dentist in a few days, you are fine for ages then you remember you are going and get that horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach…

    • Agreed. This looks atrocious. I can’t believe they are wasting their time with this. I wouldn’t even buy this for my iPad.

  2. Looks a bit meh. Also, is it just me or do the roads seem way too empty and the crashes way too much like low speed bumps..

    • Haha, now that you mention it. It does kind of look that way… Will give this game a miss. They should add the crash mode back to the real Burnout games and be done with it.

  3. Drop the burnout title and it would do better i reckon.

    • The Burnout title is all it has going for it from the looks of things!

  4. I see what you mean, the camera is very jumpy

  5. Look like it might actually be a fun little PSN title… If it’s priced right. I think the Burnout name in this case will prove to be its biggest problem.

    • Burnout is just like marmite, you either love it or hate it.

    • Couldn’t agree more Gastos. If they try to launch this at £7.99/£9.99 it’ll fall flat on it’s face. Got to be sub £5 surely

  6. Looks quite good imo. Will probably give it a go.

  7. Might as well be an IOS/Android title.

    • Yeah, I think something like this might even work well on a phone, otherwise, you could almost make it a flash game, and put on the internet for free like the portal game, even better use it as advertising for the next ‘proper’ game

  8. Red Faction (the last one) had a downloadable game before the main game arrived, Warhammer has a downloadable game out now while we wait for Space Marines….i don’t know if there’s a trend there but i’m hoping i’ve somehow missed seeing an announcement of a proper new Burnout game or that it’ll be announced soon after.

    • The red faction one was terrible, and the warhammer demo wasn’t great, soooo not feeling too optimistic about this one

  9. No thanks.

Why they didn’t just make this using the Burnout Paradise engine and make it exactly like Crash mode in the old games is completely beyond me…

  10. Looks a good, fun PSN title, shame it was burdened with the Burnout brand and therefore excellence is expected.

    • It would have been interesting to read how different the comments might have been if the game been announced without that burden. Oh! how fickle we are, myself included! {:O
