Sonic Generations Heading to PC

Sonic has recently reserved his appearances solely for consoles. However, a set of system requirements for Generations have sprung up online, confirming the title for PC audiences.

Digital download platforms Direct2Drive and GreenManGaming have the platformer available for pre-order for release on 4th November.

Here are the requirements in full:

Minimum Requirements
Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4200 (2×2.0GHz) or AMD equivalent 2GB RAM (Windows 7/XP)/3GB RAM (Windows Vista) NVIDIA GeForce 8800 / ATI Radeon HD 2900 11 GB free hard drive space

Recommended Requirements
Microsoft Windows 7 Intel Core i5 @ 2.66 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 @ 3.0 GHz 3GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / ATI Radeon HD 5850 11 GB free hard drive space

It’s been a long time since a Sonic game last came to PC, but at least PC gamers have avoided most of the terrible Sonic games, right?

  1. Meh too much Giga Bytes

  2. 11 GB?! That’s pretty surprisingly big.

    • It’s not an 11GB install tho. It needs that space to unpack the game and install it. Final footprint will be much smaller.

    • Yep not really a 11GB install… at first its scary but its ok afterwards.

    • As opposed to being on a disc that holds 49gb (?) anyway?

  3. 11GB is almost trivial these days, I’m more interested in why they think an i5 is “recommended” ?
    Seems overkill…
