Assassin’s Creed 3 on PC is made to work best with a controller, according to Ubisoft.
Ubisoft Montreal’s Creative Director Alex Hutchinson talked to GameSpy, where he spoke of the developer’s favouritism of playing the game with a controller over the trusty mouse and keyboard, although gave little reason for why:
We’re definitely supporting PC, we love PC, but I think it’ll be PC with a controller. I don’t see us investing hugely in a mouse and keyboard setup. I think if you want to play on PC and you want to play Assassin’s Creed, you have a controller.
So according to Ubisoft, to get the best experience of playing Assassin’s Creed 3 on PC, make sure there’s a controller in your hand!

Wouldn’t use keyboard for it anyway

Always play action games with a controller. Mouse/keyboards are for FPSs, RPGs, and other acronyms.

RTS!

Mouse/keyboards are for working! Controllers are for games!

Agreed. I use a controller whenever I can due to analouge control, triggers and the fact that I find it far more comfortable. My hand always gets cold and falls asleep when using a mouse for longer periods.

I want to play on PC I have Assassins Creed I play on my keyboard. Now what Rockstar?
Burgess_101
Rockstar? Ubisoft. Bloody hell what a terrible day :P

That’s excellent. But then was looking forward to a console version anyway.

I can’t even imagine playing something like AC using a keyboard …
hazelam
you’d need analog control for something like Assassin’s Creed anyway wouldn’t you.
it sounds like they’re offering M&K controls, but they say a pad is better.
for a game like that, i reckon they’re probably right.
anybody got one of those frag fx things that let you play on console with M&K?
try any of the AC games with that and see how it plays.
could be an interesting experiment.

I wouldn’t play it on PC any other way…. 3rd Person games are controller designed. FPS deffo has better Mouse/Keyboard precision and Driving is better played with a Controller or Driving Wheel compared to a Mouse & Keyboard.

Thats fine as long as they have support which they didnt for Assassins Creed 2. Although brotherhood support was excellent
