EA Add More Battlefield 3 Servers

EA has responded to complaints regarding the lack of public servers in Battlefield 3, with VentureBeat reporting at least 170 official PlayStation 3 servers are now available.

“You should see DICE-hosted servers up today,” said an EA spokesperson.

“I do not have the exact percentage or number of servers, but we’ll continue to monitor this to make sure all players are having the best possible game play experience,” he added.

  1. This is good news, it was beginning to get hard to jump on for a quick game when every match is 500+ tickets.

  2. At least this shows, that just like the Rockband thing, if people make enough fuss they’ll back down. Sadly though, this won’t stop them trying to get away with stuff like this I bet.

  3. I might go back to battlefield if this is true, so sick of being kicked from games for no reason, and games with over the top tickets.

I just want it to go back to how it was before rent a server was added, were it took 5 secs to find a rush only and normal ticket game, were as currently it takes about 10 mins :(

  4. I’m logging on now to check accuracy of this and will report back.
They need an option in server browser to only search for official servers.

  5. Found one on the 4th page of my search. Problem is there’s no way of knowing if its really official or not.

    • It seems that a lot of people copy the titles of official DICE servers to attract more players, which can be misleading. However, I know it’s tedious but I’m pretty sure when you open a particular server, it says ‘Owner’ followed by either a PSN name or ‘DICE’. Pretty sure users can’t fake that bit.

      • expect a loads of usernames along the lines of D1ce, Dic3 and Di3e very soon. ^_^

      • That’s how I worked out there weren’t any DICE servers online: can’t fake a name. Well, they can, but only with a shit load of effort which most couldn’t be bothered with (create a new account with a name like DICE, or something, then rent the server on there).

  6. Good work EA. It’s been a real pain in the ass trying to find a sensible game recently. Don’t get rid of em again though.

  7. i wonder how long they’ll last.

probably just until the complaints die down and then they’ll start disappearing again, just more slowly so nobody notices until there’s practically none left.

  8. Here you go:

Found 1 after scrolling 6 pages on the server browser, that’s what they look like.

  9. Horray for the ability to acctually play standard rules!

  10. Still don’t like it. Make Quick Match for official EA/DICE servers.
