Three Free Vita Apps Coming Soon

The Vita needs new things to play with. That’s a common cry we hear from owners who have finished the launch games they wanted and are now looking for something else to adorn their gorgeous OLED screens.

Well, Sony has just announced on the EU Blog that there are a trio of new applications coming to the PSN soon. They’ll be free to download and will offer you different experiences on the portable console.

Travel Bug offers the chance to create a character that travels around taking snaps and completing missions. Ecolibrium is an ecosystem-based game that allows you to create an environment and then balance it and trade the species you collect via Near.

Finally, the horrendously-named Imaginstruments is a musical application that allows you to play around with a few instruments and record a track using the Vita’s myriad control systems.

Nice to get things for free, and it’s nice to have some new toys to show off the Vita’s functions.

  1. Looking forward to trying out Ecolibrium but that;s only because I’m a biology student :P

  2. Liking all these free games, good sign of things to come.

  3. Still waiting on a netflix app, my vita will be complete when that arrives.

  4. Great news, but I’m out of space on my memory card :-(

    • Same here, looks like I’ll have to delete some demos.

  5. It’s a nice timewaster for a little bit but i’d like iPlayer and other TV catchup apps to make their way over.

  6. Ecolibrium sounds cool. And how does people get time to run out of games to play? I’m struggling to keep up here!

  7. Cool, heard a whisper about ecolibrium recently and it sounds quite interesting.
After playing with the welcome park app i was disappointed there was no further music creation options so that’s a neat addition too.

  8. Your right about the horrendous name Imaginstruments, surly they could have come up with something better.
Nice to see they’re all free.

  9. Sounds good to me – but then anything free is great, at least to try out!

  10. Paid for games that are decent would be preferable to novelty value freebies but I wait to be proved wrong shortly. E3 i’m looking at you…
