Tomb Raider might have been delayed but it looks like it was for good reason – the game’s taken a few new directions and is looking like being a real contender.
The videos on this page showcase the game’s platforming, hunting and exploration, but it’s worth mentioning the new skill system, which looks like it has been really well implemented.
They do lack the bite of the main section the developers have been showing off for a year, but it’s good to see some new areas and the visuals are really impressive.

What a relief, from the on-stage demo it looked like a me too third person shooter.
Hopefully it’s full of exploring & puzzling and the level of shooting is proportionate to the early games, not an Uncharted wannabe.

Looks really good, and as I thought, the puzzle element is still there and just as important – they only showed the action bits at E3 because they’re far more impressive and what will attract non-TR fans to the game.

Looks good. But now it’s on my ever growing to get list. DAMM YOU 2012! Also, it looks like i was wrong about it being Croftcharted. If there are just a few set peices that are relevant to the story and the game is 90% puzzles and exploring then it is a Tomb Raider game. Plus, the way the deer was killed is rarely done in games.
It’s very ironic Tomb Raider is being called a UC clone as people were calling UC1 Dude Raider or a Tomb Raider clone.

the animation’s a step up from the previous games, taking a cue from Uncharted obviously.
and the xp system is an interesting addition, i’m really curious as to what it’s used for though.
will Lara get more health? new skills? better aim?
i hope they’ve still got that open world aspect to the game though, and it’s not just a linear romp through a series of levels.
which is what it’s looking like so far.
it’s looking like it’ll be a good game either way, i’d love to be able to explore the island freely.

Looks really good, moving back towards the adventure side of things. Survival element may be key in the game too.
Still find it ironic how it can be compared to Uncharted as when Drakes fortune was like a tomb raider adventure.
