I’m having trouble defining DYAD. It seems like it would be doing the game an injustice to say that it’s kind of like Rez (or Child of Eden, if you’re a whippersnapper) but without that lazy safety net description, it would be impossible to give you a recognisable contact point for the game.
I was warned: Alex said to me “it’s the sort of game that really needs to be seen!”. So we made a video of me playing the first few levels. Hopefully this will give you an idea of what to expect in your first ten minutes with the game while we struggle with how to define it for a review.
It’s still very early days, of course, and I’ve only just had the bright idea that it might be much better with my surround sound headphones. So far, initial impressions are very positive but we’ll be back soon with a more developed view of the game.

It looked a boring at the start but as you go through the levels it grows on you. Might give it a go.

Yeah thats what I thought as well. Looks like this’ll get more interesting the further it goes on

Oh yes, these are the very first three levels and it’s the first time I played the game. It’s introducing the systems so keeping things subdued is a must at this early stage. The levels definitely get more complex and “busy” as you progress ;)

So this is flOw in a pipe?
Alex C
It’s more like a racer/shoot-em-up/puzzler in a pipe.

I think i still need a hands-on to understand properly how this plays but i like the abstract and originality and something about it reminds me of the Jeff Minter games.

Cool, the play field reminds me that of Tempest.

Definitly looks a lot like Rez!
I will have to give this a go, do you know if the Rez Trance Vibrator work on this? Actullay on second thoughts I dont want to know, I can only find them second hand these days, and my old one is knackard!
NOT, something you buy second hand that one.
Butt, back to the topic in hand, this game does look very good! :)

I want it! It’s like a merge of Brainpipe, DataRunners, Rez and Frequency. What’s not to love?

This looks quite cool and the music is just stunning, loving the audio and reckon this would sound unbelievable on my home cinema system.
