Just Add Water have issued the first ever screenshot from their upcoming remake of Abe’s Oddysee, currently dubbed Abe’s Oddysee HD.
However, they don’t actually want to call it Abe’s Oddysee HD – if you’ve got a better idea for a name, why not let them know about it.
The game is currently without a release date or platform confirmation – expect the latter at least at some point next month…

also, let’s hope they have better luck getting this on the xbox then Strangers Wrath did.

Hopefully we’ll see it on the Vita. I played the PS1 classic on the PSP quite awhile ago and was planning to play it again on the Vita soon once that got PS1 support, but I think I’ll wait for the HD version now :]

It will look so wonderfull in full 3D. I hope it has quick save anywhere though… like the 2nd one, of there will be lots of pain and eventually rage quiting.

2.5D apparently – Like LBP.
It’ll retain the 2D platforming, but have 3D elements from what i can tell.
Agreed on the quicksaves though.

Picked up the PSOne Classics version for £4 and played it once. Great game (literally a classic) but it looked like arse on a 42″ screen, plus no trophies. Basically it was in need of an HD upgrade so I’ll definitely be picking this one up :D
